Community Potluck Dinner
The Embassy of Ideas Community Potluck Dinner is all about the positive power of sharing a meal to build connections in our community. A potluck dinner is a communal meal where everyone contributes something. Bring a meal or an item toward dinner - can be store bought or homemade. By sharing a meal with friends, neighbours and strangers we can grow community.
Our Community Potluck Dinner is held on the third Thursday each month from 6 -8pm

Crop Swap & Produce Share
Held on the first Sunday each month from 10.30am - 12pm
Bring along your home harvest, herbs, flowers, seeds, seedling, preserves and anything garden related to share and swap with your community.
This event aims to build community, reduce food waste, increase access to healthy food, share knowledge and inspiration.

Murrindindi Men
Murrindindi Men aims to create a non-judgemental space for all men to come together and participate in a range of social activities that encourage new friendships and forge strong community connections.
Murrindindi Men hosts a regular social gathering on the second Thursday each month from 6-8 pm. Cost is $5 to cover the cost of pizza!

The Man Walk
The Man Walk provides an opportunity for men to get together to walk, talk and support each other in a regular and healthy way. The Man Walk provides an environment that is positive, supportive and inclusive, where there is no pressure and no barriers to entry. The group meets every Friday at 7am outside the Alex RSL. The walk is normally followed by a cuppa at a local cafe.

Feed it Forward Community Food Garden
Is our communal community garden. We grow herbs and seasonal fruit & vegetables that anyone in the community can access and harvest.
We host regular working bees as an opportunity for people to interact socially whilst getting their hands dirty and sharing gardening skills and knowledge.

Goodwill Garlic
The Embassy grows garlic to sell as a revenue stream to help support our Feed it Forward Community Garden.
Garlic is planted in April and harvested in November and goes on sale in December - just in time for Christmas.
Garlic braids and loose garlic is sold.

Community Passata Day
This annual event held in March, brings community together to make Passta sauce from donated tomatoes and produce from our community garden.
A wonderful event that brings community together to cook and share skills that culminates in a shared meal with hand made pasta with freshly made passta sauce.

Christmas Day Lunch
We offer a free community lunch on Christmas Day. This is open to anyone be it singles, couples or families. Everyone is welcome to come together and share food and companionship on Christmas Day.
This event would not be possible without generous community donations and many volunteer hands who help out to make this day special for many.

Alexandra Repair Cafe
Alexandra Repair Café was the very first initiative at the Embassy. It started in November 2018 and
ran until November 2024. It’s aim was to reduce waste and items going to landfill, sharing skills and
knowledge and promote a culture of repair and reuse. Whilst this event is no longer active we continue to look for ways in which we continue to promote the ethos of sustainability and reuse at the Embassy.

Whole Town Garage Sale
This annual event supports the circular economy by encouraging unwanted goods to find a new home. Not only do proceeds of registrations go to the Embassy, but locals can turn their trash into cash!
